Presentation of our foundation

The Albanian Children Foundation is a not-for-profit, non-governmental organization founded in 1996 by Mr. Domenick Scaglione. The mission of the foundation is to help children in need irrespective of faith or ethnic background and to support institutions which assists such children. Our foundation is currently trying to help children suffering from different types of cancer such as leukemia, thalassaemia, blood borne diseases, autism, HIV/AIDS, down syndrome etc. In addition, we are trying to help children from underprivileged backgrounds in having access in decent education, and healthcare facilities.
Over 40 children from all over Albania were sent abroad for medical treatment and surgeries i.e. thalassaemia, multiple sclerosis etc. Also a “Center for Molecular and Genetic Diagnostic Research" to help Albanian children in the prevention of thalassaemia and other prenatal diseases was created which is based at the maternal hospital in Tirana. The Albanian Children Foundation has also collected donations that build a center for the treatment of the children suffering from thalassaemia in the city of Lushnja.

Request

The Albanian Children foundation is planning to build a rehabilitation center for children suffering from autism and other diseases in the region of Tirana. This center will be the first of its kind in Albania and will provide its services not only for the children that reside in the capital but also for the children in need from all the parts of Albania.
Donors funding is needed to make our center a reality. We believe this new center is vital to providing the highly specialized expertise and exceptional family-centered care needed for our children. We cannot build this center without support from caring individuals and businesses in the community. Each of us has chosen to support the New Children’s Center with our own financial contribution. We would ask that you consider our request committing your critical financial support as well. You will have a personal impact on children’s health care now and for generations to come. Your donation will help provide a welcoming, healing environment designed for the unique needs of sick children from birth to age 18.
