Life is like a nice day that begins with sunrise in the morning. But, suddenly in the dazzling radiance of sun, the cloud of rain like summer showers, covers everything .... This is how started the life of two small girls from Has Rediana7 years old and Suada 10 years old.
Poverty is sitting cross-legged in this family and those who suffer most are two small girls, who are not obliged to attend school regularly and to abandon their childhood. Given that parents are people with disabilities (deaf-dumb), the one that comes to help is their grandmother who finds strength and requires ray of hope to support and help her two nieces. "Not see the sunlight, not see the life you are living, is the blinding eyes of my nieces." These lines written on a paper arrived in the Foundation from one of the most distance cities of our country, except suffering experienced by the whole family, expressed demand for support and assistance for the eyes operation of two sisters Rediana and Suada. The great hope of the family became a reality by the Albanian Children Foundation, which is determined in its mission to help children throughout Albania to ease and heal their physical or psychological pain. Thanks to cooperation with American Hospital of Tirana girls underwent eye surgery to correct the congenital cataract. Albanian Children Foundation and the American Hospital of Tirana once and again are together to help children in need. Congenital cataract operation, or called, inborn cataract, is an intervention that requires not only a team to prepare and expertise this diagnosis but also it requires modern equipment methodology. This operation provided by American Hospital in collaboration with the Albanian Children Foundation comes as joint successful projects the Albanian Children Foundation have undertaken. Today, on 13 November, Mrs. Liri Berisha was present at the American Hospital to visit Rediana and Suada immediately after surgery of one eye (for both girls). Positive result, the return of eyesight to the two girls was a very moving and exciting moment for the whole family. Ms.. Liri Berisha was very happy about these truly special and memorable moments for their parents and grandmother, and wishes success in the second stage of operation which will result with the second eye. On behalf of the Albanian Children Foundation Mrs. Liri Berisha and on behalf of the General Director of American Hospital Mr. Klodian Allajbeu, have expressed several times their commitment to the continuation of such joint projects that will help the children with different health problems, mainly untreatable disease in the hospitals of our country. |
