
Ivi Hyka, is a vivid 15 years old, who was born with Cheilognathopalatoschisis, a failure of fusion of the face processes during embryonic life may result in a variety of clefts. He underwent surgery during the beginning of July, thanks to which his face turned to normality. The surgery was performed by one of the best surgeons of the Molinette Hospital, Professor Giovanni Bocchiotti. Now, all Ivi needs is a series of dental surgeries, to reflect his joyous smile.Ivi is benefiting from the project “New Smile to Tirana”, cooperation between the Albanian Children Foundation and the Molinette Hospital, in Torino. By the end of this year eight children will be treated at the Italian hospital. The project will be financed with 40’000 Euros per year and will be extended until the 2011. |
